It is quite simple. We want you to confer (conpher) with colleagues around the world, to share advice on where best to publish your research. We are adding your experiences to the millions of key journal metrics we have gathered to make conpher a journal finder with a difference! conpher is being built by the academic community for the academic community to ultimately improve academic publishing standards for all!

  • celebrate good experiences
  • highlight bad experiences
  • help raise the standard of academic publishing

As an academic, publishing articles and sharing your research with colleagues around the world is a necessary process. But it is often a stressful and sometimes miserable experience.

Where do I publish my research?

Each one of us has critical criteria when selecting our preferred journal. It could be the speed of acceptance or publication. Or the journal’s perceived quality of content, or its readership. It could be that you know and respect the editorial board, or that your colleagues recommended a certain title. Or possibly the journal focusses on a particular subject area, or offers an Open Access publishing option.

Whatever it is, we are gathering the opinions and experiences of your colleagues, along with verified facts and figures. Our aim is to present you with a transparent view and comparison, in order for you to select the journal which best meets your needs and requirements.

For Academics

conpher has collected data from multiple sources, including the NIH, DOAJ, COPE, Sherpa RoMEO, and over 4000 academic journal publishers to provide a journal finder and comparison service for the academic research community to use for free.

We want to help you avoid:

  • complex submission systems
  • slow acceptance decision times
  • poor peer-review feedback
  • slow and unprofessional communication from editors and publishers
  • long delays in publication

conpher is also asking authors to why they selected a particular journal to publish with.

Was it?

  • the targeted readership
  • the high impact factor or H Index
  • support from the editor and publisher
  • the reputation of the editorial board
  • or simply because I have published with this journal before

And each experience review we receive, we perform a verification process unique to conpher. This will ensure the reviews we display provide a trusted source of information. And once verified we share the experiences to your colleagues around the world
